Just the other day, I was talking with my friends from college about cheapandfab.com when the subject of getting a car came up. I know it’s a far fetched idea especially as I don’t have the cash and I have a very bad sense of direction. But what if the business pulls through and is successful? There are plans to open a boutique with a coffee corner where women can hang out and gossip a little. Where does the car come in? For supplies of course! As well as for joining bazaars and doing meet ups with clients and suppliers.

As I said earlier, it’s a far fetched idea, not only because of my sense of direction but also of the costs of maintaining a car here in Makati, from parking fees to traffic mishaps. With the number of traffic related accidents and walang modo buses, I bet I’ll need a no fault automobile insurance. Also, there’s maintenance fees and oil prices to think of. My cousin brings his car to the shop every time he hits a certain mile number or whatever you call it. Methinks I’ll be too lazy or too naive to even notice it.

As for car insurance, I’m not sure what it involves or even the average price of car insurance. Do you? Well, I passed by BPI earlier and saw some flyers about house and car loans. It was the same case with MetroBank as well, with each bank saying they have the best and most affordable rates. As for what is the best car insurance, I really have no idea. These flyers are too simple and attractive you’ll wonder what’s the catch. Most el cheapo and uber attractive advertisements have one right?

So no. A car is definitely not in my future plans. I’m happy enough with commuting from my place to the office. As for our business, well, let’s just say that we’ll all have to rely on RJ and cabs for now.

Davao Food Appreciation Tour

Davao FAT is now on it’s second day and a few minutes from now we will be off to another restaurant, this time at Polo Bistro, Marco Polo. Last night we had an absolutely delicious dinner at Lachi’s, and I declare myself a convert. I absolutely loved their cakes!
