First impressions on Neutrogena Wave

I bought myself a Neutrogena Wave today using the Sodexho gift certificate the bosses at work gave me. I’m not a product junkie but I do love little gadgets that make my life easier. Yeah, yeah, lazy old me. ;)

Neutrogena Wave is a nifty little gadget that cleans the face thoroughly, removing deep seated dirt, oil, and makeup (not that I wear make-up, I’m too lazy). The package contains the gadget, 2 packs of cleanser pads (14 in all), and a double A battery. At P575 I balked at buying the product, thinking I could spend the gc on something I could enjoy, like a buffet or a handful of chocolate bars. Then again I wanted something tangible to mark the first time I landed in the top ten list at the office so I handed over my gc, my sm advantage card and hoped it was worth it.

To use you need only to plug the battery in and place the cleansing pad on the wave’s head, switch it on, and let it vibrate away. The paranoid in me imagined myself being electrocuted despite the package’s assurance that it’s waterproof so it took a few seconds before I felt comfortable rubbing it all over my face. Hehehe.

5 minutes later I emerged out of the bathroom feeling like I just had a facial. My skin indeed felt so smooth and the pores (oh the pores) looked smaller. The vibrating action felt soothing, just like a facial massage and though I’m not sure yet if it will clash with the tretinoin I got from the doc’s office, I am one happy user. And yes, I’m thinking of getting my sisters a Neutrogena Wave too.

Neutrogena Wave is available in all Watson Stores at P575. Refill packs (with 30 pads) are sold at P400.

I heart Lily Allen

I heart Lily Allen

Back in highschool a lot of my friends had wonderful singing voices. Aya sang for the school choir, along with Ferdie, Dean and the rest of the gang. Even Lindl, the seatmate I tortured with my sewing machine pen, could sing…well rap, actually. But still, most of them were into music.

I on the other hand had the singing voice of a crock. My ex even cringed when he first heard me sing. Lol. So I kept my singing voice to myself, letting it out only when I’m in the bathroom or if you’re really lucky, when I’m drunk as a skunk.

But nowadays I’m feeling a little brazen, letting the voice belt out to the tune of Lily Allen’s songs. D. says I’ve been humming and singing Lily Allen’s it’s not fair for three weeks now and asked why I loved the song so much. Had to assure him it’s not about him or any other guy, I just effin love the lyrics! Haha.

Oh he treats me with respect
He says he loves me all the time
He calls me 15 times a day
He likes to make sure that I’m fine
You know I’ve never met a man who’s made me feel quite so secure
He’s not like all them other boys
They’re all so dumb and immature

There’s just one thing that’s getting in the way
When we go up to bed you’re just no good
Its such a shame
I look into your eyes I want to get to know you
And then you make this noise and its apparent it’s all over

It’s not fair
And I think you’re really mean
I think you’re really mean
I think you’re really mean
Oh you’re supposed to care
But you never make me scream
You never make me scream

Oh it’s not fair
And it’s really not ok
It’s really not ok
It’s really not ok
Oh you’re supposed to care
But all you do is take
Yeah all you do is take

Oh I lie here in the wet patch
In the middle of the bed
I’m feeling pretty damn hard done by
I’ve spent ages giving head

Then I remember all the nice things that you ever said to me
Maybe I’m just overreacting maybe you’re the one for me

There’s just one thing that’s getting in the way
When we go up to bed you’re just no good
It’s such a shame
I look into your eyes I want to get to know you
And then you make this noise and it’s apparent it’s all over

It’s not fair
And I think you’re really mean
I think you’re really mean
I think you’re really mean
Oh you’re supposed to care
But you never make me scream
You never make me scream

Oh it’s not fair
And it’s really not ok
It’s really not ok
It’s really not ok
Oh you’re supposed to care
But all you do is take
Yeah all you do is take

There’s just one thing that’s getting in the way
When we go up to bed you’re just no good
It’s such a shame
I look into your eyes I want to get to know you
And then you make this noise and its apparent it’s all over

It’s not fair
And I think you’re really mean
I think you’re really mean
I think you’re really mean
Oh you’re supposed to care
But you never make me scream
You never make me scream

Oh it’s not fair
And it’s really not ok
It’s really not ok
It’s really not ok
Oh you’re supposed to care
But all you do is take
Yeah all you do is take

Oh he treats me with respect…lalalala… hehe. Check out more of Lily Allen’s songs on her website. :)

Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream

Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream

I rarely watch singing shows unless I’m forced to. But now that I’m living on my own (pretty much) I usually spend my free time sleeping, surfing the net, or scouring the metro for thrift shops.

While surfing the net I noticed the name Susan Boyle being bandied about. Finally giving in, I went to youtube and watched a few of her videos. My golly. She has the voice of an angel indeed. Haha! I never thought she’d sound that good.

And what makes her even more unusual is that she’s not the pretty or handsome young thing from next door.  No doubts about it, I absolutely love her voice. I have 3 of her songs on my playlist now.

For this post, here’s a video of Susan Boyle singing I Dreamed a Dream.

Looking for an apartment in Makati?

You won’t be the first one. By now I’m so used to people talking about moving out that I’ve created my own spiel for that. Here goes:

“Have you tried looking for one online? No? You should, maybe you’d get lucky like me. And besides the tools are right in front of you–pc, internet, and a phone at the lobby. Try it.” (more…)
